Favorites Friday: Vintage Gloves

I don't know why women stopped wearing gloves. I think they are so classy. Not only do they look amazing, but they are quite useful too.

Gloves protect your hands from damaging sunlight, and they keep your hands clean. Imagine all the gross surfaces you touch all day long. I know I often forget to wash my hands before I eat, especially when I sit down at a restaurant.Wearing gloves protects from all that.

I actually have a few pairs that I'm going to start wearing more often. Who knows, maybe I'll start a trend!

It is really hard to find dressy gloves in stores. Sometimes, especially around Easter, I can find gloves for little girls. Those are great for my daughter, but I want some for me! Bridal gloves are easy to find, but they're always that stretchy nylon stuff and they're always white.

I actually broke down and bought some costume gloves from a marching band website. They were less than spectacular.

Luckily for me, Etsy has a great selection of vintage gloves for really reasonable prices. I just ordered a new pair for myself and I have a whole bunch in my favorites that I want to get.

Here are quite a few for you to drool over:

Favorites Friday: Monkeys!

I love monkeys and apes. I think they're adorable and funny, and I love watching them.

The monkey house is my favorite place in the zoo, and ever since I was a kid I've been enthralled by Jane Goodall and her work with Gorillas.

I know the difference between apes, monkeys, and lemurs. To me, however, they all fall under the name Monkeeez!

My Chinese Zodiac sign is the Monkey, and surprisingly it fits me pretty well. I don't really pay a lot of attention to Zodiac stuff, but I find that random fact pretty fun.

In honor of our Primate Friends I give you this week's Favorites:

"Pool Honeys!"

Yesterday we make my nephew's dream come true and took the kids to "The Sandlot Pool".

In reality, we went to Lorin Farr Pool which is right in my neighborhood. It is the pool they used during the filming of the movie, but it's changed a little since then.

There used to be a couple of giant slides called Rampage. You went down them on a raft and they had rollers. It was dangerous. I heard horror stories.

Now they've put in three twisty water slides. Much safer, and lots of fun. The three youngest couldn't go down the slides, but they had a blast anyway.

This was one of those times when I'm glad I don't have more kids. Keeping my eye on all three of my kids was stressful.

I did have lots of fun, I went down the slides and soaked in the water.

My kids and I got burnt. Toasted. I swear I smothered us in sunscreen! We're just soooo freakin' pale!  Well, not any more.... Now we're pink!

We had tons of fun though, so I guess we earned the burn!
